Shura Council’s Youth Committee Welcomes Russian Federation Youth Legislators to Bahrain

The Youth Affairs Committee of Bahrain’s Shura Council, led by Chairman Mr. Redha Ibrahim Monfaradi, received a delegation from the Committee of Young Legislators of the Federal Council of Russia, headed by Senator Alexander Varfolomeyev. The visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen parliamentary relations and promote the exchange of experiences in the field of youth affairs between friendly nations.

During the meeting, Mr. Monfaradi emphasized the importance of sustaining and expanding cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation, particularly in areas related to youth development and legislation that empowers young people, enhances their capabilities, and invests in their potential. He noted that the Shura Council places great importance on increasing youth participation in decision-making and contributing to national development, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The discussions focused on developing youth-supportive legislation, exchanging experiences on training programs, and mechanisms to integrate young people into the legislative process. Both sides also reviewed key initiatives carried out by the respective youth committees in Bahrain and Russia to empower and support young individuals.

Senator Varfolomeyev praised the Shura Council's commitment to sharing insights into Bahrain’s legislative and democratic processes. He described the visit as a significant step toward strengthening ties between the two legislative bodies and enhancing cooperation, especially in youth-oriented and legislative initiatives.

The Russian delegation included Senators Lev Zakirov, Mikhail Sobolev, Dmitry Denisyuk, Ratmir Fakhriyev, Albert Gevorgyan, and Yevgeny Susonkin. Members of the delegation expressed admiration for the advancement of parliamentary procedures in Bahrain and expressed their interest in learning from the Kingdom’s pioneering legislative experience.
