Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs Meets with Major Italian Companies in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency

His Excellency Yasser bin Ibrahim Hamidan, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, emphasized Bahrain’s commitment to promoting sustainable environmental transformation. Speaking in Rome, he highlighted Bahrain's focus on adopting renewable energy sources and utilizing resources in innovative ways to further the Kingdom's development goals. The Minister underscored the importance of cooperation with leading countries and companies in the renewable energy sector, aiming to enhance energy infrastructure, improve natural resource efficiency, and support sustainable development.
The Minister's remarks came during a meeting with Mr. Dario Scannabico, CEO and Managing Director of Casa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), one of Italy’s major investment companies. The two discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in sustainable energy and resource efficiency, exchange successful experiences, and implement best practices for clean energy projects. The meeting also focused on advancing research and development (R&D) efforts in clean energy to achieve a sustainable transformation based on renewable resources.
Minister Hamidan further met with Mr. Flavio Cataneo, CEO of ENIL, a global leader in electricity production and distribution. The discussions centered on promoting collaboration to develop electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure using the latest environmentally friendly technologies. The two parties also explored opportunities to stimulate investments in environmental projects, including water resource management, waste treatment, and recycling initiatives.
The Minister’s visit reflects Bahrain’s dedication to expanding its sustainable energy initiatives and fostering international partnerships to enhance environmental performance.
