Five held in home-based ‘drug farm’

The Anti-Narcotics Police have arrested five individuals of various nationalities who were allegedly involved in the cultivation and trafficking of narcotics from inside a residential property.
The market value of the seized drugs is estimated to exceed BD1 million.
In a major anti-drug operation, the arrests were made during a high-level operation carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Division under the General Department of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science.
The suspects, aged between 28 and 51, had reportedly converted the residence into a drug cultivation site, fully equipping it with tools and materials required for planting and processing illegal substances.
According to the authorities, initial intelligence indicated that narcotic plants were being grown at the location.
Swift investigations led to the identification of the suspects and a coordinated raid resulted in their arrest at the scene.
All illegal materials and equipment were confiscated during the operation.
Legal procedures have been initiated, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further action.
