Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) and Commissioner General of Bahrain’s pavilion, attended the opening ceremony of Expo 2025 Osaka.

The prestigious event was held in the presence of His Majesty Emperor Naruhito and Her Majesty Empress Masako of Japan, along with Japanese Prime Minister His Excellency Shigeru Ishiba.

Bahrain will unveil its national pavilion, “Connecting Seas,” on Sunday. Situated in the “Empowering Lives” zone, the pavilion spans 995 square metres over four floors, rising to 13.7 metres and offering a stunning view of the Expo waterfront.

Created by renowned Lebanese architect Lina Ghotmeh, the pavilion invites visitors on a multisensory journey that explores Bahrain’s deep-rooted connection with the sea, trade, crafts, industry, pearls, and environmental heritage.

Expo 2025 Osaka, themed “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” features participation from 160 countries and will run for six months, concluding on October 13. Organisers expect over 28 million visitors to attend the global event.
