The General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, in collaboration with the Public Security and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), recently organized an anti-human trafficking training course aimed at strengthening the capabilities of law enforcement personnel.

A total of 27 officers participated in the program, which was designed to enhance awareness and understanding of human trafficking crimes, while reinforcing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to human rights protection.

The comprehensive course covered a wide range of critical topics, including the definition and elements of human trafficking, methods of identifying victims, and the necessary procedures to ensure their safety and protection. Participants were also introduced to the legal protections afforded to victims under Bahraini law, the proactive efforts of the Public Prosecution in combating such crimes, and the vital role played by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority.

In addition, the training emphasized recognizing signs of forced labour and understanding the mechanisms of the National Referral System — a key framework in Bahrain’s fight against human trafficking.

This initiative reflects Bahrain’s continuous efforts to equip its security forces with the knowledge and tools required to prevent human trafficking, safeguard victims, and uphold the principles of justice and human dignity.
