MP Jaleela Alawi, along with several others, has put forward an urgent proposal calling for immediate work to bring back the springs of Ain Al Raha and Ain Al Safahiya in Sitra and Nabih Saleh.
They want the government to take on a full restoration of both sites and turn them into places that can be kept going without much strain.
These would be spots where people can visit, spend time and reconnect with what used to be part of daily life.
Underground flow
The proposal says the two springs have been left to rot for years. Water has started to appear again, which suggests the underground flow is still alive.
That alone, the MPs argue, is reason enough to act now and open the springs up as quiet attractions.
No one visits them anymore. They have been forgotten. If nothing is done, they risk being buried or lost for good.
The MPs note that ministries have lately shown some will to act on old water sources.
Job
They argue that keeping these places alive should be part of the job, not a side thought.
The plan would help keep groundwater from drying up. It would stop the springs from fading away.
It could also give locals a place to walk, breathe and gather. Something simple, away from roads and noise.
