The sewerage project in Block 228 of Busaiteen has reached 90 per cent completion, according to the Ministry of Works.

The second phase of the project lies in Muharraq and is part of the ministry’s wider effort to improve public infrastructure and extend essential services to residents and businesses.

Fifty properties are set to be connected to the network, among them commercial buildings and King Hamad Mosque.

Work is also taking place along several roads, including parts of Road 9 and Road 105, as well as a number of smaller streets, where new pipes are being laid.

Project

Engineer Fathi Al Fare’a, Assistant Undersecretary for Sanitation, said the project involves laying 4.1 kilometres of main lines and 0.9 kilometres of secondary ones.

A total of 154 inspection chambers will be built.

So far, 3.5 kilometres of the main lines and 300 metres of the secondary pipes have been laid.

Network

Some 89 manholes have been constructed, and homes included in this phase have already been connected to the network.

The ministry said it is carrying out similar works across the country to keep pace with construction and to bring more properties onto the public sewer system.

Residents have been asked to take care while passing through the area and to follow the warning signs and instructions in place during the works.
