Bahrain’s Council of Representatives Welcomes US Congressional Staff Delegation

The Council of Representatives today welcomed a visiting delegation of staff members from the US House of Representatives and Senate, as part of their official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The delegation was received by Ameera Al-Qattaf, Director of the Parliamentary Studies and Training Department, along with Shaza Abu Al-Fateh, an expert within the same department.

During the meeting, both sides highlighted the deep-rooted strategic partnership between Bahrain and the United States and explored opportunities to further enhance cooperation across various fields, particularly at the parliamentary level. Discussions also focused on the exchange of expertise, visits, and delegations aimed at fostering mutual learning and development.

The US delegation was briefed on the General Secretariat's ongoing efforts to modernize parliamentary work, including the enhancement of services offered to members of the Council of Representatives, and the advancement of human resources through targeted training and access to cutting-edge technologies. They also learned about the digital transformation initiatives being implemented in plenary and committee sessions.

As part of their visit, the delegation toured the committee halls and chambers, gaining insight into the parliamentary procedures and workflows of Bahrain’s legislative body.

The US Congressional delegation expressed their appreciation for the Kingdom’s commitment to parliamentary progress and praised Bahrain’s pioneering role in the region’s legislative landscape. They also emphasized the importance of maintaining regular exchanges between the US Congress and Bahrain’s Council of Representatives, while underlining the need to further strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and coordination in international forums to serve the shared interests of both nations.
