The Ministry of Interior has been honored with the Innovation and Internet of Things Award for its groundbreaking “First Responder” project at the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2025. The award was presented by His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to Deputy Chief of Public Security, Major-General Dr. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.

On receiving the award, Major-General Dr. Shaikh Hamad expressed gratitude for the unwavering support extended by His Excellency the Interior Minister and the consistent supervision of the Chief of Public Security — both of which have played a vital role in advancing the services provided by the National Ambulance Centre for the benefit of citizens and residents.

He also voiced pride in the achievement, highlighting that this award underscores the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to refining access routes and boosting the speed and efficiency of medical emergency responses, particularly in areas challenged by traffic congestion and narrow pathways across the Kingdom’s governorates.
