Doctor to give evidence in hit-and-run incident

A forensic doctor will give evidence in the trial of a young Bahraini, accused of murdering his neighbour, on January 20. The 20-year-old accused deliberately crashed his car against the victim, who was riding a bike. The latter died on the spot, but the accused fled the scene before he surrendered himself to police later. The duo was not in good terms and the defendant was in the habit of drifting the victim’s car in the village of Demistan where they resided. The victim had reportedly tried to advise the defendant on several occasions not to do it before taking the issue to his family.

Angry at this move, the defendant allegedly crashed his car against the victim after spotting him on his bike, causing him fatal injuries.

He initially told the police that he accidentally hit him, but later confessed that it was deliberate. Witnesses were supposed to testify in the trial yesterday, but they failed to appear.
