Flatmate pushes man down stairs in BD20 row

A disagreement over a BD20 loan ended with one man in hospital and another in court facing jail and deportation.
The Appeals Court is due to hand down its decision on 28 April in the case of an Asian man found guilty of shoving his roommate from a staircase.
The lower court sentenced him to three years behind bars and ordered his permanent removal from Bahrain. According to the case file, trouble began when the victim, also a resident of the same shared accommodation, asked for the return of a BD20 sum he had lent the defendant.
The money was due back within a week, but it never came.
