Smuggler Caught with 6kg of Drugs at Bahrain Airport
Customs officers at the Air Customs Directorate, under the Bahrain Customs Affairs, successfully apprehended a 24-year-old Asian national attempting to smuggle 5.95 kilograms of narcotic substances through Bahrain International Airport. The seized drugs, valued at approximately BD 90,000, were confiscated on the spot.
Following the interception, the case was promptly handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Directorate under the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science. Through swift coordination, authorities were able to arrest a second suspect, also an Asian national aged 23, who was located within the Kingdom and found to be connected to the smuggling operation.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding Bahrain’s borders and preventing the infiltration of illegal substances, stressing that all necessary legal actions are being taken against those involved.
