Bahrain and Japan Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations During High-Level Meeting

His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting today at the Ministry’s headquarters with His Excellency Ando Toshihide, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Director General of the Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau at Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during his official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting focused on the longstanding and historic friendship between Bahrain and Japan, highlighting the continued growth and development of bilateral relations across various sectors. Both sides explored avenues to further enhance cooperation and expand it into broader and more comprehensive areas, aiming to serve the mutual interests of both nations and their people.

They also exchanged views on the latest regional developments and issues of shared concern.

  • Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

  • H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Al Doseri, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Japan

  • H.E. Okai Asako, Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Bahrain

The discussions reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to strengthening their strategic partnership and enhancing cooperation in diplomacy, trade, and cultural exchange.
