Continuing with its relentless efforts to sensitize its students about the environmental issues of the current time and to motivate them to wake up to their responsibilities towards Mother Earth, NMS-BAHRAIN heralded the Earth Day celebration on 22nd April.
This year’s Earth Day celebration at NMS saw the students participating in a gamut of activities designed to inspire, educate and help them make a tangible difference towards saving our planet. The spirited millennials actively participated in a series of activities that included Best out of Wastes, Poster designing, Slogan and Jingle writing, PPT and movie making, Making of Paper and T-shirt bags and Group discussions and speech delivery on issues of environmental sensitivity.
The students adopted the Green NMS pledge and voiced their support towards making their school clean and Green. Students pledged to grow more trees and consume fruits and vegetables as part of their diet. They also pledged to reduce their consumption of packaged food and felt motivated to spread their message.
Principal, Dr Arun Kuumar Sharma, in his message to the students touched upon the role of schools in instilling in the students the need to adapt to a sustainable lifestyle that promotes solidarity with nature. School Chairman Dr Ravi Pillai and Managing Director, Geetha Pillai appreciated the whole-hearted efforts put in by the students, teachers and parents in proving that in line with the vision for the school they were true patrons of responsible, committed global citizens.
