Plans to turn a quiet stretch of Al Dair’s coastline into a fishing and sitting platform will go before the Muharraq Municipal Council on Monday. The site lies on the northern edge of the ring road, facing the sea and free of buildings or barriers.

Residents say it has long been used informally by locals who fish or gather along the shore, but lacks any proper structure or safety features. Proposal The proposal is to formalise that use with a simple, fixed platform made of wood or concrete.

In a letter sent to the Ministry of Works, villagers described the spot as “an ideal place for a safe and straightforward platform”, noting that the terrain requires little preparation.

“The northern side of the ring road overlooks the sea with no buildings or obstacles,” they wrote. Demand The submission argues that there is demand for such a space, particularly in Dair, where public access to the coast is limited.
