His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, deputised His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, to inaugurate the Bab Al Bahrain Forum 2025, organised by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) under the theme “Shaping a Sustainable Future through Trade and Employment.”
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah emphasised that hosting the forum highlights the Kingdom of Bahrain’s established position in its comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He noted that Bahrain has become a leading hub based on the principles of sustainability, competitiveness, and fairness that underpin Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, particularly in trade, investment, and services.
International confidence
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah highlighted that the prominent local, regional, and international participation in the forum is a clear indication of the international confidence Bahrain holds, underscoring its status as a trusted destination for economic dialogue and shaping future development strategies.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah added that the Kingdom remains committed to strengthening its role as an active partner in the global economic system by continuing to enhance the investment environment, adopt best practices, and empower human capital by expanding productive employment opportunities in partnership with the private sector.
This comes in line with the positive indicators achieved by the National Labour Market Plan 2023 – 2026, which aims to create quality job opportunities for citizens, positioning them as the optimal choice for employment and meeting national aspirations for sustainable prosperity.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah thanked the BCCI for organising the forum, which embodies the Chamber’s vital role, rooted in over 85 years of history, in supporting economic development efforts and broadening the horizons of regional and international cooperation.
On his part, Sameer bin Abdullah Nass, Chairman of the BCCI, thanked HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for supporting the Bab Al Bahrain Forum 2025.
He highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting economic initiatives that promote business and encourage dialogue among various economic actors, thereby advancing sustainable development and strengthening Bahrain’s position as a leading commercial and industrial hub.
Innovative solutions
Nass added that the forum, which brings together for the first time representatives from the International Labour Organization (ILO), the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretariat General, trade ministers, and leaders of Arab and Gulf chambers of commerce, presents a valuable opportunity to exchange perspectives and propose innovative solutions to various challenges.
It also aims to transform these challenges into opportunities that enhance economic development paths and support the formation of strategic partnerships to boost intra-regional trade and expand employment prospects.
