Region’s largest health care conference in Jan.
Bahraini participation is expected in the region’s largest health care event, Arab Health, which will be held in Dubai from January 25 to 28. Healthcare industry leaders from all over the world will participate in Arab Health as they seek to bring their innovative solutions and investigate opportunities in the Middle East market.
Technologies being exhibited at the event will include ultrasonic surgical devices, products for plastic surgery, and robotic rehabilitation systems.
“Attended by over 13,000 delegates from around the globe, the conference brings a global appeal with international speakers covering a broad spectrum of medical specialties and disciplines,” organisers stated.
The event will also showcase the revolutionary impact that 3D printing technology has had on the healthcare industry.
“The 3D printing conference at Arab Health will be a revolutionary look at the impact of 3D printing in healthcare. The conference will focus on the surgical applications for 3D printing, 3D printing for drug discovery, bioprinting and vascularization as well as a look at the legal and ethical debates surrounding this technology,” organisers said.
They added that 3D bioprinting has huge potential to save lives and there are a small handful of companies who are now able to 3D print liver tissue.
“The next step is being able to print whole organs such as the pancreas and Kidney and Liver and vascular networks to enable the organ to survive. The conference will also focus on a new technology called ‘Body-on-a-chip’, which aims to print mini hearts, livers and blood vessels on a chip. This has the potential to more accurately test new drugs and eradicate the need for animal testing,” organisers stated.
The exhibition will showcase more than 4,000 companies exhibiting their latest innovations to over 130,000 healthcare professionals attending from 163 countries.
