Bahrain to host six sigma forum
Chairman of the Bahrain Quality Society (BQS) Dr. Khalid Jassim Bomtaia said that the third edition of Six Sigma will tackle the economic developments resulting from the decline of oil prices and the austerity and expenditure rationalization policies adopted by most government and private companies and institutions.
Held on December 28 and 29, 6 Sigma will host senior business development expert in Petrochemical Industries Company in Kuwait Aref Al-Awadhi, who will highlight his company’s success in saving more than $ 150 million in 2014 as a result of its implementation of the 6 sigma principles.
Frank Serafini, the main speaker in this year’s forum, will give a presentation on how to design and implement a quality system for the in institutions and companies. He will also moderate on a workshop on designing and planning continuous improvement of performance.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nada Al-Anzi will speak about the application of 6 Sigma in high education institutions.
It is worth noting that the BQS announced its readiness to host the Six Sigma Forum, under the patronage of the President of the Supreme Council for Health and BQS Honorary President Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa will be the guest of honour and will deliver a speech during the opening ceremony.
BQS also announced it would honour leading women entrepreneurs in the field of quality, as well its women board members during the opening ceremony, as part of the Bahraini Women’s Day, and in line with the directives of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, regarding Bahraini women’s empowerment.
