MWPS helps inferno survivors
Survivors of a fire incident that engulfed a labour camp in Al Makharqa here were provided assistance by a local society on Friday.
Migrant Workers Protection Society (MWPS) said in a press statement that it had met 18 men, who survived the mishap that caused no fatalities. The society said the accident had displaced the men.
“MWPS team members were able to meet with the men and distribute to them emergency packs, blankets and socks. Two men who jumped out of the windows to save themselves from the blaze sustained fractures and were treated in Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC),” the statement read.
The society confirmed that “MWPS members will be meeting with the victims again to provide dry rations, mattresses and possibly mobile phones from an anonymous donor.”
