Ombudsman receives US Ambassador
Ombudsman Nawaf Mohammed Al Ma'awda received the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Kingdom of Bahrain, William Roebuck.
Al Ma'awda briefed the ambassador about the efforts and activities of the Ombudsman Office regarding ensuring accountability by investigating into complaints received from individuals against Interior Ministry personnel as well as monitoring reformatory and detention centres.
He assured the ambassador about the Ombudsman's keenness on continuous communication with diplomats interested in familiarisation with the Office's efforts aimed to boost human rights and humane treatment in the domain of its work as well as its efforts to extend bridges of cooperation with international institutions to benefit from their expertise and relevant experiences.
Deputy Ombudsman Ausama Ahmed Al Asfoor, International Cooperation Specialist Mariam Ahmed Abdelnoor, and Legal Researcher in the Department of International Cooperation and Development Mohammed Tawfiq attended the meeting.
