Social Development Minister supports charity, humanitarian activities
Labour, Social Development Minister, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, stressed the importance of the positive role undertaken and carried out by civil society organisations in boosting social development and the welfare of all community members inclusive of persons with special needs through charitable and humanitarian activities to meet everyday living requirements and needs.
This remark came as the minister received a joint delegation from Bahrain Society for Sickle-cell Anemia Patients Care led by Zakariya Ebraim Al-Kazhim, and Aali Charity Society led by Adel Al-Sitri.
The delegation briefed the minister about the activities of both recently-formed societies, especially in the area of community service such as blood donation campaigns in favour of sickle cell anemia patients which will be organized by Aali Charity Society on January 16.
The campaign aims to boost community partnership, through undertaking humanitarian roles and activities to save the lives of patients in need of blood donation. The societies aim to muster the voluntary efforts of all forces active in the national development and construction process in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
On this occasion, the minister praised the exemplary humanitarian and philanthropic efforts of both societies. He expressed the ministry's readiness to support and ensure the success of all projects and initiatives carried out by civil society organisations to consolidate and bolster the values and principles of voluntary humanitarian works in Bahrain.
In turn, the representatives of both societies have expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Minister of Labour and Social Development for his attentiveness and support to the activities and works of all charity societies and allocation all capabilities to ensure the success of their programmes and projects aimed for the interest and welfare of citizens. They also lauded the minister's encouragement of serious and active civil society organisations, anticipating the minister's consent to patronise the blood donation campaign in favour sickle cell anemia patients.
