Bahrain sex racket agent arrested in India
Indian police has arrested a Bahrain resident for her involvement in trafficking several women from India to the Gulf country.
The actual name of the woman who is known as ‘Archana’ is Mini Murukesh, authorities have revealed.
Archana, who hails from Kollam in the south Indian state of Kerala, is the second accused for trafficking a woman from Kerala to Bahrain onSeptember 12.
She was arrested after reaching Kerala from Bahrain.
Police explained that Archana was one of the main suspects in trafficking women from India to Bahrain and forcing them into the flesh trade.
She is known to have recruited more than 50 girls to Bahrain by offering them jobs here and then forcing them into prostitution.
According to a latest tip off the police received, her accomplice (who hails from Thrissur, Kerala) is currently in Bahrain.
Archana is said to have offered a housewife, a job as a tailor in Bahrain and brought her here.
After reaching Bahrain, she was forced into immoral activities.
The woman later escaped from the place where she was kept captive and filed a police complaint, which exposed the gang and led to Archana’s arrest.
Archana is believed to have trafficked women into Bahrain through visit visas.
She then managed to earn huge amounts of money by ‘selling’ her victims to customers.
If the women do not agree, they were beaten and physically tortured in several ways, until they give in.
Their passports would be confiscated, making the women helpless to leave the country even if they get a chance to escape.
DT had earlier reported that Indian police were probing an online sex racket in Kerala and have stumbled upon evidence of women being trafficked to Bahrain.
In the past one year, at least 60 women were apparently sent to the Gulf country and forced into sex trade.
The crime was committed in connivance with Indian immigration officials, officials said.
Police sources said that the women were lured with lucrative jobs.
