UNHCR official lauds Bahrain's humanitarian efforts
The Head of the Office of UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for Middle East and North Africa, Ayman Al-Gharaibeh, has commended the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its role in supporting Syrian refugees emanating from its humanitarian and fraternal duty. He lauded the Kingdom's long-standing supportive stances towards refugees, alluding to the Kingdom's acceptance of refugees without turning them back or handing them over.
Al-Gharaibeh made his remarks as he met MP Dr. Isa Turki in Geneva on the side-lines of their participation in the UNHCR dialogue themed "Protection Challenges" which began on December 16. He also lauded the Kingdom's role, efforts and humane treatment accorded to refugees inside or outside the Kingdom of Bahrain who benefited from its available capabilities and services without any discrimination because of their gender, race or ethnic origin.
He hailed HM the King's direct support and the Kingdom of Bahrain's government and people, alluding to the RCO's humanitarian relief assistance and development projects , led by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Representative of HM the King for Charity Works for Syrian refugees in Jordan, the Palestinian brethren in Gaza and the brotherly people of Somalia as well as in several brotherly and friendly countries.
