Court upholds jail term in porno case
A Bahraini teenager, who used his friend’s Snapchat account to upload a pornographic clip, has had his six-month prison term upheld.
The victim told police that his 19-year-old friend recorded a video for him while he was sexually stimulating himself before uploading it through his own (the victim) personal Snapchat account.
He said that this caused embarrassment to him as his account was being followed by his family members as well as his friends.
The defendant has also shot his own buttocks and uploaded it using the same account.
“He asked for my account’s username and password and I gave both to him. But, I was shocked to see that he accessed my account and uploaded obscene clips, requesting my followers to contact him,” the victim told the prosecutors.
The 19-year-old accused admitted to his offence during questioning, and he was charged with discrediting the victim’s honour, encouraging immoral activities and possessing pornographic materials on his phone.
