Avert the lurking danger

In a few bizarre incidents that happened in various parts of the Kingdom, it was noted that children were left unattended.

DT News on a usual round up in the city found many kids, left unattended by parents, in dangerous circumstances.

In one of the instances, a child was recently seen sitting on the balustrade of the escalator, in a leading shopping mall in the Kingdom.

The security guards of the mall were nowhere to be seen and no one from public took the initiative to stop the child. Luckily, the child reached the floor safely.

Fatal accidents caused by unattended children are not a rarity. Recently in South-west China, a four-year-old child was killed after getting trapped in the handrail of an escalator.

The victim was playing with the handrail of the escalator, and got stuck, which led to the tragedy. This had created much uproar among the Chinese people.

In another instance in the same shopping mall, a group of kids were seen running down an escalator. One of the kids slipped and fell hard onto the floor. However he was not seriously injured.

Later in the evening, a child was seen crying, sitting on the driver’s seat of a parked car with the engine running. The child was waiting for his mother, who had gone for shopping in a boutique, for a long time.

“He was initially sitting quiet. After some time, he got restless and panicked. He started crying out loudly and then came out of the car. Seeing the boy crying by the roadside, some of the passers-by enquired with him what had happened. A customer in my saloon pacified the child. After about 20 minutes, the mother came after her shopping,” said Gaffoor, a barber of a saloon at the location.

DT News also spotted a boy travelling in a car with his head out of the window. It is necessary to take care of such incidents to prevent fatal accidents in the future.
