23,000 shoppers visited Budaiya farmers’ market
Twenty-three thousand people have so far visited the Bahraini famers’ market ever since it opened six weeks ago.
Visitors from various parts in Bahrain flocked in big number to the Budaiya Park to visit the market and buy locally-farmed agricultural products.
The fourth edition of the suq will continue to open every Saturday for four hours starting 8 am, until its closure in April. The annual market has attracted 34 Bahraini farmers who showcase their fresh vegetables, much to the delight of shoppers and visitors.
The Directorate of Agriculture and Marine Resources is organizing the market in line with the Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) to develop the agricultural sector and enable farmers to boost their revenues.
