‘Al Basta market key national project’
Southern Governor Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa has described Al Basta Market as a key national project. During his visit to the Al Basta Market yesterday, he met vendors, productive families, participating individuals and institutions, and reviewed with them their projects and displayed products.
He explained that the market aimed to achieve two main goals. “The first one is economic stability through providing an opportunity for individuals and establishment, productive families and owners of micro, small and medium sized enterprises to showcase their products, while the second is social through creating a recreational atmosphere for families from all social segments,” he added.
Shaikh Abdulla also met members of the organising committee, and thanked them for the their efforts to ensure the success of the market.
The second week of the market, held on Friday and Saturday at the Bahrain International Circuit, was concluded yesterday. As many as 75 vendors participated.
The Governor praised the high turnout during the first week, noting that the increase in the number of visitors and shoppers testifies to the outstanding success of the event.
