Labour, Social Development Minister receives Jordanian delegation

Labour and Social Development Minister, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, commended the Kingdom of Bahrain's distinctive experience of cooperation between the executive and legislative bodies. 

This is seen in terms of local labour market growth, opening up horizons and attracting more overseas capital investments thanks to the Kingdom's advanced legislative and legal frames that support successful investments. Bahrain is among the region's pioneering countries in this field, the minister said.

Humaidan made his remarks as he received a delegation from the Kingdom of Jordan's Parliamentary Committee on Labour and Social Development, led by MP Abdullah Obeidat. 

The minister cited Bahrain's comprehensive development efforts, successful governmental projects in terms of national workforce employment, lowering unemployment rate, expanding the umbrella of social security, supporting the Bahraini family all of which could not have been achieved had it not been for the leadership's directives and follow-up, and constructive dialogue with the legislature which culminated in issuance of important legislations that serve aspects of development in the Kingdom in terms of issuance of the labour law and its regulatory code, and the family law which contributed to consolidation of values inside the Bahraini community.

The minister briefed the delegation about the ministry's projects related to boosting the qualification of national cadres that contributed tremendously in lowering the unemployment rate in the Kingdom of Bahrain and maintaining it within controllable safe limits. He also cited the leading experience of the Bahrain's Unemployment Insurance Scheme. He also informed them about the ministry's efforts in improving living standard of the Bahraini family in compliance with the leadership's directives to provide the people's with means of dignified livelihood.

The head of the Jordanian delegation Bahrain's experience in reducing the jobless rate and development of the Bahraini family considered one of the outstanding Arab and regional experiences as the Kingdom managed to make advanced strides in the prosperous reign of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in terms of development of human resources and qualification of job seekers who join the labour market in the private sector. 

MP Obeidat urged to boosting the exchange of technical expertise in the sector of labour and social development between the two countries.
