Modern House expo to promote ‘Made in Bahrain’

Bahrain International Modern House Exhibition and such events would help promote “Made in Bahrain” furniture and internal décor, said Minister of Energy Dr Abdulhussain Mirza, on the sidelines of the expo’s launch yesterday.

“It is very important to display the Bahraini talent to show the world Bahrain not only imports but also manufactures and has its own brands,” he said.

Minster of Housing Basim   Alhamer told DT News he was proud that the Ministry was making major steps towards the social housing agenda.

“We are announcing again that for the first time, Bahrain is building five new towns, which is an extraordinary move. They are presently at the execution stage,” he said.

He said that they had also initiated a social housing finance scheme in partnership with the private sector.

Alhamer said their plans would not be affected by slump in oil prices as most of the plans were partially funded by the GCC while the remaining were locally funded.

Parliament First Deputy Chairman Ali Al Aradi said, by hosting such exhibitions they could show the world that Bahrain has a very healthy economy.

“What is really unique about this exhibition is that it has huge variety of exhibitors from housing, interior design, building material etc. It also reflects the importance of the sector and Bahrain is the right place to host such exhibitions,” he added.

MP Jamal Dawood said the impression that slump in oil prices would stop all such activities was busted with the successful organisation of the event.

Managing Director Diyar Al Muharraq Aaref Hejres praised the event for bringing all housing supplies under one roof, which benefit both the consumers and traders.
