MEET ICT, BITEX a grand success

The technology conference and exhibition MEET ICT and BITEX was a success, thanks to the various insightful conclusions made by the attending experts during the discussions, its organisers said. 

Global and regional experts discussed the latest developments and issues faced by the technology sector at MEET ICT, a top technology conference held this week. 

Held alongside the conference was BITEX, a technology exhibition that brought ICT companies together to display the latest trends in their field. 

The events were organised by Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH)  in association with Worksmart events management company under the patronage of the Minister of Transportation and Communications, Kamal Ahmed. 

Speaking to DT News, Chairman of Worksmart, Ahmed Al Hujairi said predictions that there will be a rapid rise of the cloud computing, big data and wearable technology and internet of things in the coming years were some of conclusions made from the discussions. 

“Technology has evolved a lot over the years. It is not something that only experts are involved with, even laymen are engrossed in technology. Everyone is carrying with them a gadget and connects to the internet with ease. Internet has become essential for everyone,” he said.  

He added, “The discussions at the conference made clear to us how governments should make use of technology, how companies should be ready. Experts also noted how the cloud computing is gaining pace and wearable technology is on the rise. The conference detailed how small businesses, corporations and governments can benefit from these technology.”
