Labour minister receives Sri Lankan ambassador

Labour and Social Development Minister, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, received the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Socialist Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. A. S. U. Mendis, wishing him success in developing and bolstering the bilateral ties to achieve the aspirations of both leaderships and peoples, especially regarding labour relations. 

The minister commended the role of all expatriate workers in general and the Sri Lankan workers in particular, lauding their loyal contributions in building modern Bahrain's renaissance. He asserted the ministry's full readiness to provide all the means that boost the bilateral cooperation that serve the shared interests of both countries, especially human resources development. 

The ambassador praised the Bahrain's facilitation and protection accorded to Sri Lankan workers and preservation of their rights that made them feel reassured and safe in the Kingdom which they consider their second home.
