KHK MMA Team wins AIMMA Championship top positions

The Kingdom of Bahrain has won the prime position in the three weights category of 57, 61 and 77 kg in the Indian Open MMA Championship, on the side-lines of Body Power Expo during participation of Khalid bin Hamad MMA (KHK MMA) Team alongside with 300 MAA fighters from around the globe.

The two-day event was organized by the All India MMA Association (AIMMAA) under the supervision of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) in Mumbai, India.

KHK MMA Team has been crowned upon winning the top position during a ceremony in conclusion of the championship.

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Athletic Association (BAA), said this accomplishment is the fruition of unlimited support of His Majesty the King to sports hence the Kingdom of Bahrain achieved a series of feats over the eons. His Highness has highly commended the outstanding performance of gifted Bahraini MAA fighters Hussain Ayyad, Hassan Ayyad, Fahad Abdulrazzaq, Abdullah Seena and Ali Ebrahimi who won the top positions.

This is in addition to being a translation of the plans and programmes laid down by the Kingdom's leadership for the youth and sports movement as a whole and mixed martial arts in particular to boost and advance the sports sector to highest levels.

His Highness said the ceaseless care and attentiveness to this sport have contributed in the Kingdom's assuming prestigious position among major countries of the world, for the series of accomplishments and success to continue its firm and steady strides.

His Highness said this accomplishment came to confirm the team is progressing properly according to plans laid down to attain best standards and achieve positive results and work on development of fighters capabilities through the provision of opportunity for them to participate abroad to gain expertise and interact with world-class professional and amateur fighters, adding that the accomplishment places the team in a new challenge to outdo itself and boost its achievements.
