Taiwan to pick potential buyers from BIAS 2016

Taiwan is looking forward to pick some potential buyers for its highly sophisticated security and surveillance equipment, to be displayed at the Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS) 2016, stated Representative of Taiwan’s Trade Mission to Bahrain Michael T. Chen.

Speaking to the DT News yesterday, Chen said Taiwan was taking part in the BIAS for the first time and they have been told Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), National Guard, Ministry Of Interior and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce could be the potential buyers for them.

“They are cordially invited to visit our pavilion at the air show and witness the wide range of products including UAVs, target drones, surveillance equipment, models of weapon systems, autopilot systems, jets for target training, GPS tracking equipment, quad-rotor helicopters, combustion and case lines, exhaust systems, stators, shrouds, shields and airplane models,” he said.

He said the 19-member delegation from Taiwan will reach Bahrain on January 20.

Five Taiwanese companies - National Chung Shan Institute of Science and Technology, AmJet-u Tech Co., Ray Ching Industrial Corp., U-Cheer Technology Corp., and Yield Technology Co. - will exhibit at the air show.

Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), which assists the Taiwanese businessmen in the foreign markets will lead the delegation.

“We are looking forward to making deals and agreements not only with the concerned authorities in Bahrain, but also with other GCC countries,” he said.

Chen said Taiwan is currently recognized globally for its technological innovations and for its high quality products and services.

“TAITRA will also take this opportunity to foster closer trade ties between Taiwan, Bahrain, and the Middle Eastern region,” he stressed.

BIAS will be held at Sakhir Airbase from January 21 to 23 from 8 am to 6 pm.

More than 128 companies representing 34 countries are expected to take part. Some important countries participating in the air show include United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Egypt, USA, Russia, Turkey, Brazil and Canada, Germany, France, India, Taiwan and South Africa.
