Bahrain causeway needs emergency lanes : MP
A Bahraini MP is demanding to create emergency lanes on both sides of King Fahd Causeway.
MP Theyab Al Nuaimi also urged the authorities to consider increasing the numbers of vehicles entering and leaving the Kingdom through the causeway.
“Some of the travellers can’t wait for long due to several reasons that could be related to health or other matters,” Al Nuaimi said.
Explaining further, he said, “The government should discuss with King Fahd Causeway General Organisation General Director Abdulrahman bin Saad Al Yehya, the possibility of introducing additional charges on the newly proposed urgent lane.”
“This would contribute in achieving smoother traffic flow on both sides of the causeway, and increasing the income of the King Fahd Causeway Organisation,” he added.
The MP’s proposal was referred to the concerned Parliamentary committee for further discussion before it could be voted on by the rest of the Parliamentarians.
