Asian sailor died in piracy attack
Coast Guard Commander announced on Saturday that a Bahraini dhow was targeted in a piracy attack outside the Kingdom’s regional waters that led to the death of an Asian sailor.
He said that the Public Prosecution was notified upon the arrival of the dhow today morning at a maritime checkpoint near Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bridge in Hidd area. He said that concerned GCC authorities were notified for necessary and precaution measures.
He urged all sailors t stick to the fishing areas in Bahrain’s territories and avoid crossing maritime borders by following the instructions of the Coast Guards in this regards for their safety and to avoid legal measures against them.
