HRH Premier to patronise Bahrain Fine Arts Exhibition
Under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) will organise the 42nd edition of the Bahrain Fine Arts Exhibition on January 20.
Bahraini artists, diplomats, businessmen and members of the Bahrain fine art community will attended the annual event which will be inaugurated at 10 am.
A total of 87 distinctive Bahraini art works, tackling a number of issues, will be displayed during the expo which will run until March 20.
The event "celebrates the creativity and ingenuity of the local Bahraini artists," BACA said, adding that "every year, the art community gathers to present their finest work, uninhibited by a subject or theme. The result is a colorful display of styles, techniques, through different mediums of expression."
A competition will be held this year, and will be supervised by jury comprising members from Arab and Asian countries. There will be three winners. The first will receive BD 6,000, while the second will have the opportunity to showcase his work during a one-month expo held by BACA. Meanwhile, the third winner will showcase his art work in the Fayoum Art Centre in Egypt for two weeks.
