Three-year jail for attacking cop

A person has been sentenced to three years in prison on grounds of attacking an on-duty cop.

The accused was reportedly stopped at a police checkpoint but he tried to flee as officers tried to arrest him when they discovered that he was wanted in connection with a drug case.

He is said to have initially obeyed the order to enter a patrol to be transferred to police station.

“He suddenly changed his mind and tried to flee from the car. I managed to nab him but he twisted my finger,” the victim said.

Medical report showed that the latter suffered bruises to his finger, but the accused denied physically assaulting the cop during his arrest.
