Fun, frolic pep up festive milieu at Bahrain Air Show
The flying display was not the only entertainment at the Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS). Spectators were equally impressed by the fair and other events organised at the Sakhir Air Base yesterday.
The event was made colourful with a children’s bouncy castle, bubble bash, bull ride simulator, motion capsule ride, flight simulator, ‘Little Engineer’ workshops by Airbus, children’s flying chair ride and 3D Floor Art made available for the visitors.
Other attractions at the event were a graffiti wall, costumed characters, face-painting, henna and street performers.
Food court and heritage village retail shops, food and beverage outlets, mosque and a medical booth were also present for the visitors to use.
The event housed stalls by Royal Charity Organisation, Al Areen Wildlife Park, Airbus, Credimax, Bahrain International Circuit, King Hamad Hospital, Al Manhal Water, AA Bin Hindi Cars, Bahrain Parachuting, Kuwait Science Club, Ministry of Interior Aviation Command, Ministry of Labour and Social Development and Batelco.
Speaking to DT News, Airbus official Jana said that the Little Engineer programme was aimed at inspiring students with science. “It’s been great here, we love the Bahrain International Air Show. We have over eight schools participating with us in this event at the moment. These students are going to assemble a model of the A380 and they will learn more about the aeroplane while they are in the workshop. The students are first briefed about the activities through a presentation. They are informed about the A380 and what they will be needing to do,” she said.
“While the flying display enthralled the spectators, the fair and the fun activities were equally impressive,” Daniel said.
“It has been great, especially for the kids. The kind of activities organised here are attractive and fun for them. Overall, it’s been better than last year’s edition,” he said.
“I think, Formula 1 and the Bahrain International Air Show are Bahrain’s best events. This year, the air show has raised the bar even more. It has been exciting and well-organised,” said Hussain.
“I think that to host such a significant event brings recognition for Bahrain. It’s great for its economic development as well as reputation,” Talal noted.
A children’s magic show, illusion show, games, competitions as well as live music were organised during the air show to keep the visitors entertained.
