Bahrain gets new Basketball Academy

Manama Club's Basketball Academy was opened by Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Hisham bin Mohammed Al Jowder as part of the ministry's strategy to develop the national club'ss sports teams.


The minister raised the curtain off the commemorative placard announcing the academy's opening of its two-layered building including basketball gym, reception, physical education (PE) gym, cabinets room, administrative room for the club's management, secretariat, conference room, computer room, library, sanitary facilities belonging to the academy at a cost of BD 374,000. 

The minister inspected the administrative building and players rooms whose maintenance was undertaken by the ministry at a cost of BD 62,000.

He affirmed keenness on continuing the ministry's policy of implementation of sports projects in the national clubs in line with the leadership's directives and the policy of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS) led by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Representative of HM the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, congratulating Manama Club over the opening of its academy and administrative buildings hoped to boost administrative stability and produce numerous graduate basketballers.
