HRH Princess Sabeeka to patronise GCC forum
Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of Supreme Council for Women (SCW), will on Sunday patronise the second Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Friendship Forum for the Blind, organised by the Bahrain Friendship of the Blind Society.
The forum will be a platform to exchange expertise and experiences regarding issues of the blind in the GCC countries, to enrich information and knowledge and impart confidence and self-reliance among the blind in order to boost their negotiating capacity and leadership traits.
The forum highlights the importance of preparing visually-impaired students and teachers in order to integrate them into mainstream education, and enable them to choose suitable university disciplines in addition to benefiting from equal job opportunities. The forum also highlights the role of visually-impaired women in social life and supporting them in order to perform their noble mission and to inform the community about the interests of blind women in sports.
The forum will attract participants from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain.
