Huawei gains significant market share in Bahrain

Teach giant Huawei is growing rapidly in Bahrain and has gained significant market share in the Island nation, a top official stated.

The official added that it aims to strengthen its position even more.

Globally, the company made mammoth sales last year as it shipped over 100 million smartphones worldwide. The impressive performance has placed it third globally in market-share for smartphones.

Speaking to DT News, Sandeep Saihgal, Vice President of Huawei Consumer Business Group said that the company is keen on expanding its sales in Bahrain. “We are doing well in Bahrain. We are gaining market share month over month. We have been refocusing our partnerships in Bahrain and we have been refocusing with major retailers in the country. We have reassessed our distribution network. Bahrain is slightly smaller geographically, so we can make sure we reach everywhere,” he said.

He added, “2015 was a successful year for the Huawei Consumer Business Group here in the Middle East and we anticipate 2016 to be an even bigger one with immense growth in the region.”

He noted that with the launch of its latest flagship devices Mate 8 and M2 tablet, the company aims to further strengthen its market-share. “These-days most of the work is done on the smart phone; messaging, social media sending emails, presentations etc.  The Mate 8 caters to these needs. It is for the people who are on the go. That’s why we have battery that is bigger, it goes for a couple of days,” he said.  He said that despite the large 6-inch screen, the phone is not bulky, thanks to careful design.  “Dimensions on the phone are not bulky at all. Dimension wise, its not bulkier than any other phones, it is slim. Dimension-wise, it is as any other phone of its kind, at the same time we give a perfect 6 inch display,” he said. “The Mate 8 is the ultimate high-end smartphone designed for the professional, striking the perfect balance between high performance and long battery life. And when designing the M2, we equipped it with an impeccable sound system to take the user’s experience to the next level. Both of these devices reflect Huawei’s continued dedication to bringing the latest innovation and style to our consumers,” he added.
