Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has called for mending rifts, overcoming differences between Arab countries and holding on to cooperation.

“Cooperation is our only option to preserve the interests of our Arab nation and peoples,” he explained, noting that “Arab political, economic and social complementarity is the best means to survive and fend off threats to the Arab nation. The current Arab situation is painful, the threat is common and protection from it requires putting aside differences and activating Arab agreements and keeping Arab communication channels always open.”

The Prime Minister made the statements while receiving the participants in the first edition of the ministerial meeting of the Arab-Indian Cooperation Forum, currently hosted by the Kingdom.

The Premier lauded the Arab initiatives that enhance cooperation and coalition to confront attempts to undermine Arab security.

“Achieving rapprochement and consolidating cooperation among Arab countries on the basis of mutual respect represent a noble human value that should be maintained and strengthened in order to pave the way for security and peace and meet the peoples’ aspirations for development,” the Premier said. The Prime Minister also stressed that the challenges currently faced by the world at the political, economic and security levels require putting forward more comprehensive formulas and visions for regional and global cooperation to ensure higher levels of understanding and coordination that enable countries to take collective steps to overcome the repercussions and threats to the world.”

Participants in the first edition of the ministerial meeting of the Arab-Indian Cooperation Forum expressed thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom for hosting such a major meeting, lauding the Premier’s interest in advancing Arab-Asian cooperation.
