Drug case: Couple spared of jail term
A GCC national couple was spared of their jail term after the Lower Appeals Court accepted their appeals and suspended their prison term.
The pair was sent for trial after the wife was caught hiding drugs in her innerwear while they were at the King Fahd Causeway, heading to Bahrain.
Three pills containing illicit narcotics have been seized from their possession, and they failed a drug test too.
The husband was earlier sentenced to six months behind bars, but his wife was given only one month in prison. Their lawyer earlier urged the court to have mercy on them as there was no crime registered against them earlier.
