Work in East Hidd Housing project underway

Housing Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Housing Projects Sami Buhazza has revealed that 85% of the first phase of East Hidd housing project's construction and infrastructure has been complete, affirmed that the construction of 487 housing units will be completed by the end of February this year.

Buhazza said that East Hidd Housing Project comprised ,500 units across a 232 hectare site, divided into two phases through establishing 487 housing units in the two villages B2 and B3 in the first phase.

A tender for building 398 housing units in village B1 has been awarded and Village C included 740 housing unit and it is in the technical evaluation phase now.

He said that the project included 4548 housing units, 2827 villas and 1212 apartments.

Buhazza pointed out that completing infrastructure work in parallel with the construction work would accelerate the pace of work in order to deliver the housing units to those on waiting lists.

He asserted that this project comes in line with the government's efforts at constrcting 25000 housing units during the coming 4 years as mentioned in government action plan and pointed out that East Hidd Housing Project is one of the strategic projects that contributes to implementing the royal directives of building 40 thousand housing units.

He said that these strategic projects are financed by the budget approved by the government and the GCC Development Fund.
