Government resolved to support training programmes

The Government is resolved to continue supporting the training programmes to ensure highly-qualified Bahraini graduates meet the labour market needs in the Kingdom and the region. Information and Parliament Affairs Minister Isa Abdulrahman Al-Hammadi stressed the stance, highlighting the importance of training programmes in honing the professional skills of Bahrainis so that they keep abreast of labour market trends and contribute to the development process. 

He was responding to the query of MP Ali Abdulla Al-Aradi regarding the number of pilots and aviation engineers and technicians who were trained as part of Tamkeen-funded programmes. He stressed the importance of the pioneering sector which is developing in the region and requires highly-qualified cadres. 

"The focus was first on aviation companies operating Bahrain but we expanded the scope of interest to explore the possibility of engaging qualified Bahrainis to meet regional needs", he said. Citing complied figures, he said that all candidates who managed to complete their training and graduate have been hired, pointing out that the other trainees would also be recruited on finishing their programmes. 

Al-Hammadi hailed the dedicated efforts exerted by the Labour Fund – Tamkeen – to implement viable progarmmes that aim to hone the skills of Bahrainis, commendingthe support delivered to this end by the private sector. 
He underlined the pivotal role of the private sector to integrate the trainees in the labour market and contribute alongside Tamkeen to drawing up key strategic plans which reflects true partnership.
