Duo in custody for selling drugs
Two Asian men, who were caught peddling and consuming marijuana, have been ordered to be kept in police custody.
The first defendant is said to have been arrested following a tip-off to the anti-narcotic department in the Ministry of Interior.
He helped the police to capture his co-defendant. According to police records, an undercover agent lured the first defendant into selling BD5 worth of marijuana. Police pounced on him after handing over the illicit drugs to the officer. During interrogation, he revealed to prosecutors that he had received the narcotic substances from another man.
He also offered help to arrest him. The second defendant was later nabbed while selling 30 marijuana cigarettes for BD150 to the first defendant.
