SCW signs slew of pacts

The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) gave special attention to achieving partnership in cooperation with Ministries, official institutions and civil society institutions for empowerment programmes and the development of women inside and outside the Kingdom of Bahrain. 

On the occasion of Arab Women’s Day, which falls on February 1, the SCW showcased the areas of cooperation for women through which it strives to makes the Kingdom of Bahrain a centre of expertise in the field of women’s issues and empowerment in accordance with the national plan for the advancement of Bahraini women. 

General Women’s Union

The SCW and the General Women’s Union in the UAE co-signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in December 2007 based on the common desire to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between the two sides and for the advancement of Arab women in all fields. 

Dubai Women Establishment

The SCW and Dubai Women Establishment co-signed an MoU in June 2010 to strengthen the bonds of cooperation for the advancement of women in both countries. 

Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Fund Centre for Women Development 

The joint cooperation between the SCW and the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Fund Centre for Women Development opened new horizons for exchange of experiences and expertise between the two sides. 

Women’s Affairs Committee in Kuwait

The SCW signed an MoU with the Women’s Affairs Committee in Kuwait for cooperation in economic, cultural and social fields related to the development of women. The MoU was signed by Wife of His Majesty the King and President of Supreme Council for Women HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, and Sheikha Latifa Fahad Al-Sabah, Chairperson of the Women’s Affairs Committee in Kuwait.

National Council for Women in Egypt

The SCW and the National Council for Women in Egypt co-signed an MoU in May 2008 for cooperation in all areas related to the development of women. 

The Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND)

The SCW signed an MoU with the AGFUND in December 2008 for cooperation in the common areas of development through the implementation of development programmes and projects. It was signed by HRH Princess Sabeeka and S. Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, President of AGFUND.
