Murder case: Closing trial on March 9
Closing arguments will be heard on March 9 in the trial of a 31-year-old Bahraini woman accused of killing her boyfriend.
She is standing trial at High Criminal Court, facing murder charges after her 57-year-old boyfriend was found dead in his Riffa apartment.
According to court files, the woman killed the Bahraini man following a brawl in his apartment. It reportedly happened after he had denied her to exit his apartment without having sex.
It’s said that the woman began sleeping with the man in his Riffa apartment after she developed a relation with him by speaking on the phone for a long time.
The woman claimed during interrogations that their relationship grew after he had promised her to find her a new job opportunity.
“We would drink beer every time we meet in his apartment. We were also going to coffee shops, and whenever we return to his apartment we have had sex,” the defendant said.
“I was insisting on him to marry me, but he was refusing. On the day of the incident, I didn’t drink beer, but he got drunk. He asked me to have sex but I wanted to leave,” she added.
The 31-year-old woman is said to have broke the victim’s neck by spinning it with her hands by force.
Her crime came to light after she had told another man about the incident, and the latter filed a complaint against her.
