GCC stands for peace: PM
Manama
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said that “countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are peace-loving and their hands are extended to all for cooperation.” “GCC countries hold no hostility towards anyone, but they will not stand idle when they are targeted by enemies,” he added.
HRH Premier was speaking in a meeting with Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla, Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, former Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani, First Deputy Shura Council Chairman Jamal Fakhro, MPs, Shura members and senior state officials at the Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.
HRH Prime Minister expressed deep regret over the terror blasts, which targeted Saudi Arabia recently. “Such incidents expose the cooperation between holders of destructive ideology and the enemies of the nation to subvert the region’s security and stability.” During the meeting, HRH Premier highlighted the necessary mechanisms to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the executive and legislative branches. He also reiterated the government’s constant keenness to consolidate cooperation with the legislature, and support it in assuming its monitoring and legislative duties. “The ultimate goal for the two branches is to enhance the progress of the nation and ensure the prosperity of its people,” he reminded.
