Witness kin of judge; Court withdraws case
Manama
A High Criminal Court yesterday withdrew from hearing a murder case after it was learnt the judge who is presiding over the court and a prosecution witness are relatives.
According to court files, a 31-year-old woman killed her 57-year-old boyfriend following a brawl in his apartment. It reportedly occurred after he refused to leave her from his apartment without having sex with her.
It’s said the woman started having an affair with him after he promised to find her a new job. “We would drink beer every time we meet in his apartment. We also used to go to coffee shops together, and after we return to his apartment, we would have sex,” the accused said.
“I insisted him to marry me, but he kept refusing. On the day of the incident, I didn’t drink, but he got drunk. He asked me to have sex but I wanted to leave.” The woman reportedly broke the victim’s neck by snapping it with her hands. She revealed about her crime to another person, who in turn informed police.
